CALSB/PNALSB 2024 Conference: The Future of Business Law

CALSB and PNALSB invite you to our annual conference to be held in beautiful Vancouver, British Columbia, April 26-28th, 2024.

Our conference will be held at the gorgeous Fairmont Waterfront Hotel in the heart of Vancouver, British Columbia, just outside of the historical Gastown district. You will be steps away from the ocean and a nice waterfront walk away from Stanley Park. Vancouver is home to some of Canada’s best restaurants and bars, and we expect to announce discounted optional group and social activities as the conference approaches.

We have negotiated discounted block fees for room at only $319 per night. Once your ticket is purchased, you will be provided with instructions on how to book a room with the block code. The discounted rate is only available until April 12.

Registration Fees:

• $280 CAD (+fees) Early Bird Registration up to March 31, 2024
• $330 CAD (+fees) Regular Registration after March 31, 2024, up to April 21, 2024

The capacity for the conference is only 40 people, and since this is a joint conference, we expect tickets to go fast. We would recommend reserving your early bird tickets now!

The evening reception, two breakfasts, two lunches, and the CALSB/PNALSB membership fee are included in the registration.

The final conference schedule will be provided on the website and emailed to participants. We will have an evening reception on April 26, a full day on April 27, and a half day on April 28.

Call for Papers, Presentations and Panels: We welcome submissions and invite presentations or panels from participants. Our conference will also feature an award for a distinguished paper. The theme for this years’ conference is “The Future of Business Law”, which should be liberally interpreted. Your papers, panels, or presentations could cover any field of research and this theme should not limit your ideas for submissions or proposed presentations or panels. We will be releasing some ideas of what we are interested in seeing, particularly, on our website leading up to the conference.

Distinguished Paper Deadline: The deadline for paper submissions (to be considered for the Distinguished Paper award) is midnight, April 19, 2024. Additional papers may be submitted after that date but will not be considered for the award. Further details regarding paper submissions may be found on the CALSB website: www.calsb.ca (with or without paper submission).
